LISA ROPER'S ANNUAL LADIES ON ICE FISHING ADVENTURE

From passionate first-timers to seasoned anglers, the event is a powerful celebration of courage, confidence, and connection.

"We were honoured to share the ice with Indigenous leaders, elected officials, and a remarkable team of female Volunteers, Fish and Wildlife Sheriffs and Conservation Officers, all leading with heart and purpose. Thanks to your incredible support, we were able to provide top-tier equipment, warm meals, and thoughtful amenities, creating a safe and inclusive space where women and youth could learn, laugh, and thrive together. It wasn’t just a day of fishing; it was a celebration of what happens when women are welcomed and equipped to embrace the wild."

SYNDENHAM HATCHERY FUNDRAISER CONTRIBUTION

In February 2025, the Sydenaham Sportsmen's Association lost one of their hatchery roofs due to the excessive snow in the Owen Sound Area. The Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association run community hatcheries that operate year-round, with eggs taking from wild fish in both the spring and fall. To date, the Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association has raised and stocked millions of fish, including Chinook Salmon, Rainbow and Brown Trout into the Sydenham and Pottawatomi Rivers and Georgian Bay Tributaries. We were able to contribute $1000 to their fundraiser.

fish! FISH! AND MORE FISH!

Thompson-Pallister Bait Co. Ltd. supported the stocking of 2,800 rainbow trout throughout Central Alberta. Stocked fish ponds offer accessible recreational angling opportunities which we believe is especially important for youth and encouraging the next generation of anglers to fall in love with our sport.

Six locations were chosen and approved by the Alberta Conservation Association including the Camrose County Nature Conservation Center (Camrose, Alberta), Winchell Lake (Water Valley, Alberta), Boulder Lake (Blackfalds, Alberta), Rays Pond (Red Deer County, Alberta), Mound Red Reservoir (Wetaskiwin County, Alberta), Lacombe East Stormwater Pond (Lacombe, Alberta). Metro East Anglers is a not-for-profit 100% volunteer organization. The club has grown to produce yearly hundreds of thousands of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon and Atlantic Salmon for stocking in local watersheds. The club is dedicated to the improvement and conservation of our fisheries and environment throughout Ontario and works closely with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

Thompson-Pallister Bait Co. Ltd. donated $2,400 to purchase 30 bags of fish food
for the Ringwood Coho Salmon program.  A 25kg bag of fish food costs about $80 and once the salmon reach 10 grams and about 12cms in length, they are feeding heavily and go through about ½ a bag of food across the 7 tanks every couple days.
