Did you know that Northern King lures are also made at the Len Thompson factory in Lacombe, Alberta?

Thompson-Pallister Bait Co. Ltd. purchased the company in 2016. Better known in and around the Great Lakes, the "NK" brand has started developing a bit of a following in Western Canada where Len Thompson's brand is better known.

Scott Bulat -- Brand Ambassador for Len Thompson/Northern King -- shares his experience chasing Lake Trout with Northern King in Alberta.
Name: Scott Bulat
Location: Edmonton, AB

I really enjoy taking new people out in my boat that don’t normally get the chance to catch fish and let them experience a fun day.

My favourite species to introduce other anglers to is Lake Trout and my favourite local fishery is Cold Lake, Alberta — just over 3 hours North East of Edmonton.

Lake Trout prefer cold, deep waters. I recommend using a sonar to find the right location and to help determine the proper depth of setup. If downrigging is not an option, try using a trolling weight or dipsy diver to get your tackle down deeper.

I found out about NKs through Len Thompson. I love using them because they are light and have a super awesome wobble behind the downrIgger ball. Seems to drive the fish crazy! My top producing patterns in 2019 were Homeland Security, Green Goblin Glow and Orange Crush.
