The Snowbirds

What I initially thought would be a quick custom lure drop off turned into the experience of a lifetime. I hoped when stopping by the Snowbirds' base in Moose Jaw, SK, that I would be able to take a photo in front of the iconic Tutor aircraft. Instead, I was given an incredible 2-hour private tour and had a photo taken INSIDE of the Tutor!

Master Corporal Mike has been involved with the Snowbirds for around 25 years which makes him an IDEAL tour guide. He showed us every nook and cranny of the base.  The metal shop, the engine shop, the tire and brake shop, the avionics shop, the engine thrust test area, the ejection seat area, the parachute area, pilots briefing room, CO's office… literally everywhere.

Throughout the tour, I was amazed at the dedication and pride of each person we met.  We had interesting conversations with three pilots, were introduced to at least 20 NCO's and the base commanding officer spent five minutes chatting with us (he is a big fan of Len Thompson, and the outdoors in general).
I would like to express my extreme thanks to Master Corporal Mike for his tour. With Remembrance Day coming up on November 11th,
I would also like to thank each and every member of the Canadian Forces for their many contributions, both big… and small...
